August 16, 2013 | New Accountability for Schools



With most public schools reopening in little more than a week, faculties and administrators find themselves graded under a new accountability system.

It's in some ways simpler, some ways more complex. Some argue that reducing the number of high-stakes tests given to students is dumbing down our schools. Others say the new STAAR test is harder than the TAKS test it replaced. We separate fact from fiction.
