August 5, 2011 | Ready for the Big Leagues?



For decades, San Antonio has remained a major league city with minor league sports.  With the exception of the NBA Spurs, San Antonio has not been able to attract a major professional sports franchise, either an NFL team or a Major League Baseball club. Could we handle the financial and fan commitment to the majors, or are there benefits to remaining a home to minor league sports franchises?  Right now, fans can watch minor league baseball and soon will see professional soccer. We'll look at the past, present and future opportunities for professional sports and the potential impact on the financial growth of the Alamo City.
